South Korea and the United Kingdom will co-host the second global AI summit on May 21 and 22, 2024, in Seoul. The summit will be led by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. This virtual event follows the inaugural AI summit held in November 2023 at Bletchley Park, UK. The summit aims to address the risks associated with the rapid advancement of AI and the urgent need for unified global regulation. Despite positive steps, significant gaps in AI governance remain, prompting leaders to advocate for standardized global AI regulations to prevent competitive degradation of standards.
