A collaborative initiative between Ecosistema Formazione Italia (EFI) and Olympus has led to the launch of a permanent research laboratory focused on diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in education, using digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).

The partnership was highlighted during the “Learning Accessibile” event at the Rome Future Week, where five innovative projects aimed at breaking down barriers to learning were awarded. These projects showcased how AI and digital technologies can make education more inclusive for people with different needs, including those with disabilities.

The winning projects included initiatives like Ated4Special, a virtual village in the metaverse designed to help children with autism spectrum disorders develop social skills, and AI & ADHD Learning Assistant, an AI-driven tool to support personalized learning for individuals with attention disorders. Other notable projects focused on accessibility for visually impaired users and immersive experiences to combat bullying.

The event emphasized the importance of leveraging AI to create more inclusive learning environments and highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in driving innovation in educational technology
