Capital FM Kenya – On 24 March 2025, the Supreme Courts of Kenya and India signed a bilateral agreement to collaborate on the integration of artificial intelligence in judicial modernization and case management. The initiative aims to enhance judicial efficiency, reduce backlog, and improve accessibility by implementing AI-based digital systems.

The agreement covers knowledge exchange, technical support, and the development of AI tools to assist in scheduling, legal research, and predictive case analytics. Both courts committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and judicial independence while incorporating AI into their processes.

This partnership marks one of the first formalized cross-border judicial technology collaborations between African and Asian legal systems. Legal observers note that this may serve as a model for other jurisdictions aiming to modernize their courts with responsible and ethical AI integration.
