Over the past year, more than 2 million citizens have utilized the "Digital Pension Consultant" to check their eligibility for supplementary benefits. This service, part of Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), demonstrates INPS's pioneering role in employing AI within public administration in Europe. Despite Italy's overall low ranking in AI implementation according to a European Commission report, INPS has made substantial progress.

During a recent conference, "Administrative Artificial Intelligence: Principles and Rules for Public Functions," experts discussed the advancements and future potential of AI in public services. Key speakers included government officials, academic leaders, and AI specialists, who emphasized the importance of AI in improving efficiency, transparency, and service quality. AI applications at INPS include automated request processing, virtual assistance, and fraud prevention, enhancing the institute's ability to serve citizens effectively.
