European Union has published its AI Act, which will come into force in 20 days after its pubblication. The law's implementation will be phased, starting with the removal of prohibited practices by February 2, 2025, followed by the establishment of a code of good practice by May 2, 2025. General-purpose AI models must comply by August 2, 2025, and full compliance is required by August 2, 2026. High-risk AI systems have up to 36 months for compliance, depending on their risk level.
